The innovative Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH./POWER OIS lens adds to our premium “X” range. It is designed to retract in order to minimise its size, without compromising its focal length or image quality.
The world’s first digital interchangeable power zoom lens*
The retractable power zoom lens offers a versatile zoom range of 14-42mm (35mm camera equivalent: 28-84mm) suitable for a wide range of scenes. It captures high-quality photo images with true-to-life detail through excellent resolution, image rendering and colour reproduction. The zoom lever is particularly useful when shooting video because it allows a steady shot when zooming which is difficult with a manual zoom ring. When using for still images, it allows quick and accurate changes between focal length so that you never miss a shot. On our current range of G series cameras you can actually change the zoom speed between video, while still allowing a slow zoom on video to get a smooth action or a quick zoom when shooting still images

Suppress handshake and eliminate blur with POWER O.I.S.
The lens features POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), to make it easier to shoot clear photos even in low-lit situations. The convenient zoom lever on the lens barrel gives you a stable way to zoom, while manual focusing is also available with a manual focus lever for even more precise control.
The ultra-mobile compact design doesn’t sacrifice image quality
This extremely compact lens is approximately 26.8mm in length, and weighs approximately 95g, offering ultra-high portability. While small in size, lenses within the premium “X” range still boasts outstanding technological features to ensure that you do not have to sacrifice quality for size.

The lens features superb image rendering for life-like textures and crisp, edge-to-edge contrast. A unique Nano Surface Coating technology minimizes reflections at entire visual light range for a dramatic reduction of ghosts and light flare, resulting in outstandingly clear picture quality.

Lens Construction
MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabiliser)
Designed to compensate for hands-shake ‘blur’, the MEGA O.I.S’s internal LSI compensates by processing the output of the gyrosensors at approximately 4,000 times a second. What you see in the Live View Finder or LCD image is what you get in the shot (especially effective when using a zoom lens).
Nano Surface Coating Technology
Panasonic have applied an extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. The resulting pictures are clear, with dramatic reduction of ghosts and flare.
Aspherical lenses
These lenses prevent spherical and distortion aberrations, so higher magnification can be achieved with fewer lenses. Resulting in smaller size and weight, these lenses feature the high dimensional accuracy of Panasonic’s cutting-edge production technologies, including concave lenses that measure just 0.3mm at their thinnest part.
